STUDENT MINISTRY

City Church Students is a place where every student is known and accepted as they grow in their gospel-rooted identity to live beyond themselves for Jesus' glory.

WHO

All students in 6th–12th grade are welcome! Whether it's your first time or you've been coming for years, we'd love to have you.

WHAT TO EXPECT

Wednesday nights are designed to help students build friendships, have fun, and grow in their faith.
A typical night includes:
  • Hangout time and games
  • Worship
  • Biblical teaching
  • Student Groups—small groups divided by grade and gender and led by trusted adult leaders
Once each month, we switch things up with a Big Event Night featuring activities like bonfires, dodgeball tournaments, field games, and other special events.

Parent FAQ

What if my student is nervous?

That's completely normal! Our leaders are intentional about helping new students feel welcome from the moment they arrive. We'll introduce them to students their age, help them find their group, and make sure they never feel like they're on their own.

How do drop-off and pick-up work?

We encourage students to arrive between 6:25–6:30PM so they have time to check in, grab dinner if they'd like, and connect with friends before the night begins. If it's your first time at City Church Melissa, simply head up the stairs to our Student Ministry entrance, where our team will be ready to welcome you and help you find your way. Student Ministry ends promptly at 8:30PM, and parents can pick up their students at that time.

Can my student bring friends?

Absolutely! We love when students invite their friends. No registration is required for a regular Wednesday night—just show up and we'll take it from there.

Is there a cost?

Wednesday night Student Ministry is completely free! We also offer dinner, snacks, and drinks for $1 each. Some special events, retreats, camps, and mission trips may have a cost, but we'll always communicate those details well in advance.

Can parents stay?

To help provide a safe and secure environment for all students, we ask that parents do not stay during Student Ministry. We'd still love to meet you! Before the night begins, you're welcome to meet our staff, connect with your student's small group leader, and see where your student will be spending the evening.
