BIBLE READING PLANS
"...Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect."
Rom 12:2
"...for while bodily training is of some value, godliness is of value in every way, as it holds promise for the present life and also for the life to come."
1 Tim 4:8
"New Year, New Me," we often say, and begin to create a list of habits to cultivate the type of person we want to become.
If becoming a more godly person is your goal, this cannot happen without regular time spent in God's Word. This year, resolve to spend as much time scrolling the Word of God as you do social media (consider the relative quality of the input!)
Below are a few Bible reading plans that can help you meditate on the Scriptures daily.
BIBLE IN A YEAR PLAN
Jason Seville, pastor at Del Rey Baptist Church in Alexandria, VA, has developed a plan he calls the "πΌπ‘π©ππ§π£ππ©ππ£π πΎππ§π€π£π€-πππ§π’π€π£ππ-ππππ‘ππ¨ππ€πππ£π©π§ππ π½πππ‘π ππππππ£π ππ‘ππ£."
We used this plan last year, and Pastor Seville has updated it for 2025. You can download the pdf here.
THREE YEAR BIBLE READING PLAN
The Bible is comprised of 66 books written by multiple authors over centuries - but it tells a single story of God's work redeeming His people.
Modeled after the Robert Murray-M'Cheyne reading plan, there are few plans that do a better job of illustrating how tightly the story is woven. At the end of the plan, you'll have read through the Old Testament once and the New Testament twice - and most of all, you'll be intimately familiar with the way writers who lived hundreds of years apart in vastly different contexts can describe a single, coherent story of God's amazing grace.
You can download the pdf for this plan here.
City Church has limited printed versions of this plan.
The Bible App has a one-year version that will offer daily reminders on your phone, as well as an audio version to help you get the most out of your workout or commute!
DESIGN YOUR OWN
There are a multitude of really good plans out there, and the best one is the one you'll actually use!
